How can you prevent hair loss?

For many of us, hair loss is something that creeps up on us over time and is largely unavoidable. Things like male pattern baldness, alopecia, or general thinning of the hair as we age can take their toll – but things aren’t always so out of our control. There are many measures we can take to help prevent hair loss in the first place; here are just a few best practice tips that we can all follow.

  • Be careful and moderate with the use of things like hair dryers and straighteners. The heat can weaken the proteins making your hair fragile and the follicles prone to breaking. If you have dry, brittle hair this can lead to thinning and contribute to future hair loss.
  • Many of us like to colour our hair, but if done too regularly this can also damage the scalp, particularly the roots, and also increase your risk of hair thinning and loss.
  • When maintaining your hair from day to day it’s best to use a wide toothed comb or brush, and not to brush too vigorously. This is especially true of those with particularly thick hair where heavy brushing might be tempting.
  • Last but not least, consider your diet when caring for your hair. This is something that many of us forget to address when considering hair maintenance, instead turning to conditioners and lotions. The truth is that healthy hair really does start with a good diet; make sure you get plenty of vitamins from the B-group, as well as zinc from cereals and plenty of seeds and nuts. Incorporate these into your diet and you could notice a difference in your hair and nails within weeks.

Hair Regrowth Therapy – Restoration Without Surgery

Both men and women from all kinds of backgrounds are susceptible to hair loss, and the effects are difficult for anyone to cope with. One option open to people who suffer from alopecia or pattern baldness is the use of DHT inhibitors. Medicated DHT inhibitors can be an extremely effective combatant to hair loss

How do DHT inhibitors work?

dht-hair-loss-forwomenIt is commonly accepted that the main culprit in the hair loss of up to 95% of people is DHT. Therefore, blocking DHT has become a viable and effective way to treat hair loss in both men and women. If the DHT level is lowered, hair loss will usually stop or at least slow considerably. Most DHT blockers and inhibitors have the added advantage of helping the blood circulate properly. DHT blockers and inhibitors come as DHT shampoos, conditioners, topical solutions and other formats, all designed to do the same thing.
